Thermal Wonderland

Wai-O-Tapu (Sacred Waters) is one of Rotorua’s iconic geothermal attractions.  Wai-O-Tapu is centrally located and easily accessible from most parts of the Central North Island.

We explored spectacular nature at New Zealand’s most colourful volcanic area.  And enjoyed seeing unique volcanic features. We walked at our own pace along well defined tracks. We started first class Visitor Centre with retail and cafe facilities.

Sculptured out of volcanic activity and thousands of years in the making, Wai-O-Tapu is considered to be New Zealand’s most colourful and diverse geothermal sightseeing attraction. You are introduced to a uniquely different natural landscape – the key to what you see lies below the surface – one of the most extensive geothermal systems in New Zealand.
