Why learn from a native speaker?

1 Most second language learners want to speak and write LIKE anative speaker so a good  native speaker would be the best model.  

2 Native speakers can tell by sight or sound whether a word or expression is right or not. Practice with a native speaker will help learners do that too.  

3 A good native speaker avoids using non standard words such as aint -can't hardly -alright -out loud -use to-this things -etc.  
 
4 A good native speaker will know pronunciation of optional words such as either neitherand data which syllable to stress in confusable words and the correct was to say difficult words such as photographer - economics and mischievous.  
 
5 Reading aloud is an excellent way to learn correct pronunciation,intonation and stress and thus avoid hesitations and stammering. A native speaker would give alearner excellent practice in this regard.  
 
6 A native speaker knows that many English words have different shades of meanings and usages and can teach these to a learner. 
 
7 An experienced native speaker knows that it is natural to make mistakes when learning English and that a learner should never be afraid of making them.  
 
8 A good native speaker will show a learner how to proof read quickly as this is avery important skill.  
 
9 Know your audience. There are so many different ways of saying things that alearner needs to know the most appropriate way to say or write things.  
 
10 The mark of a good language learner is how well he/she recognises and uses phrasal verbs eg run down- take out come off -bring up- carry on etc . There are thousands and native speaker use them all the time in their speech.
