Donald Zolan was brought up in Brooklyn in America and began drawing at three. By five he was winning local art competitions and he won his first Major competition at thirteen. Graduating from
the American Academy of Fine Art, he became apprenticed to Haddon Sunbloom, the famous illustrator and became successful in commercial art.
However Zolan soon became most interested in fine art paintings and soon opened his own gallery in Nantucket.His work blossomed and soon became famous featuring on plates,dolls,figurines and
other collectibles eventually being known all over the world.
He has a special love of children and this is reflected in much of his work.His paintings now, would rank among the most popular in the whole world.
