Interests

I enjoy racquet sports, and am a very active tennis and squash player. I have a currents golf handicap of 16. Other hobbies and interests I have include reading, all kinds of music, gardening and philately

My objective is to become the most effective educator I can be, by using my diverse background and experience, the valuable I gain through continuing education and my enthusiasm and ability to teach and learn from my students.

Key responsibilities included:

· Teaching English as a second language to Fourth and Fifth Form O-level students.
· Training students to improve their oral and listening skills.
· Taking extra classes to better improve students for their exams.
· Setting and marking school exams as well as writing schemes of work for one particular level.
· Form teaching which involves various administrative duties related to my form class namely, maintaining standards of dress and upholding school rules, checking on attendance, recording exam results of all subjects, maintaining class morale and dealing with my students’ problems and difficulties.

Key Achievements: 

· I have achieved excellent results in both N-level and O-level examinations particularly in 2002 when eleven students out of twelve gained credits in the June O-level exams.

· I was appointed as an O-level orals examiner by the British Ministry of Education.

· I have run workshops for the Ministry of Education for young Bruneian O-level English teachers.

· I have established a link between Scholastic Australia Pty Ltd, a book company in Australia, and Secondary Schools in Brunei. This has led to a greater interest and improvement in reading amongst students.

· As master in charge of tennis I increased the number of players from ten to over fifty. Two that I have coached won National Championship.
